GREEN RESIDENCE,Ekali. Blurring the boundaries of building and nature was the design’s intention. Through the large openings, nature is invited inside, providing pleasant vistas to gardens and pool. A straight axis penetrates the building, visually linking front and rear gardens with parts of the interior. An atrium contributes to natural ventilation and cooling in summer. Shading devices and green roofs protect the interior from overheating in summer. Recyclable materials such as zinc, aluminum, gravel are used in the construction. A rainwater harvesting system was designed, to provide irrigation water.
