A 98 acres seaside area is the site for the new Halcyon Hills resort. Native vegetation, rock outcrops and seashore, are the key scenic features of the site. Microclimate, temperature and prevailing winds are influenced by the mild climate of the embracing region, setting the environment for the design of a seaside landscape, with strong Mediterranean character and references to the colors, light and scents of the Greek landscape.
Planning proposals have two objectives. The first is the preservation and recovery of natural systems, minimizing disruption to the established patterns of the natural landscape. The second is to complement and merge the building structures with the landscape.
All the proposals are determined by the concept of protection, respect and accentuation of the natural beauty of the place. Colors, planting species, ground materials are selected in order to create an environment aesthetically harmonized, and compatible with the special features of region’s seaside ecosystems.
